Artificial pitches and hard playing surfaces are now part of modern sport - so the way players prepare needs to evolve too.
Graze Guard is a pre-play skin barrier developed for athletes training and competing on these surfaces. It’s designed for rugby, football, hockey and other sports where contact with the ground is part of the game.
Before training or play, simply spray Graze Guard onto areas of skin most likely to experience fast, forceful contact with the playing surface, such as the knees, side of the shins, elbows and forearms etc. Its lightweight, quick-drying film helps reduce friction between the skin and the surface, helping to lessen the severity of turf burns and grazes.
Developed with input from players, coaches and physiotherapists, Graze Guard is a practical addition to every training and match-day kit bag.
Prepare for the game. Prepare for the surface.

Artificial pitches and firm playing surfaces are now a regular part of modern sport - but they can be unforgiving on the skin. When skin makes fast, forceful contact with the surface, friction can cause turf burns, grazes and abrasions.
The discomfort doesn’t always end when the game does. Sore or broken skin can make training and competition uncomfortable, particularly when the same areas are repeatedly exposed to contact.
Players have traditionally relied on covering the skin, using tape, wearing base layers, or simply accepting turf burn as part of the game. Graze Guard offers a different approach: preparing the skin before stepping onto the pitch.

Graze Guard® is a pre-play skin barrier spray that helps athletes prepare for artificial and hard playing surfaces.
Applied to high-contact areas before play, its purpose-developed formula creates a lightweight, quick-drying film that helps reduce friction between the skin and the playing surface.
Designed and developed in the UK, Graze Guard brings skin preparation into the modern pre-game routine.

Graze Guard began on the sidelines of a rugby pitch, where founders Latham Tawhai and Stephen McKenzie kept seeing the same problem: players prepared their bodies and their kit, but not their skin for the surface they were about to play on.
Turf burns and grazes were simply accepted as part of the game.
Drawing on Latham’s experience as a former professional player, coach and sportswear product developer, alongside Stephen’s 20 years in FMCG and brand development, they set out to change that.
Following two years of development, field testing and refinement, Graze Guard was born - a simple pre-play skin barrier designed to help athletes prepare before stepping onto the pitch.
Because as playing surfaces evolve, player preparation should evolve with them.
